“Stick ’em with the pointy end!”
Arya Stark, one of my favorite characters of the “Game of Thrones” television series and “A Song of Ice and Fire” books, knows what to do with her sword. She is a spirited young girl who would much rather learn to fight than to do needle work like the proper young woman her sister, Sansa, is.
Early in the series Arya’s half-brother, Jon Snow, gives her this sword as a parting gift and tells her that the first lesson for using it is, “Stick ’em with the pointy end”. She names the sword “Needle”, saying her sister can keep her sewing needles, while she has a Needle of her own. In Season 2 of “Game of Thrones”, Needle is taken from her, but she gets it back (and puts it to good use) in Season 4.
This beautifully detailed figure of Arya Stark is from when she is disguised as a boy. I think that it portrays her scrappy and determined personality very well.Buy Now
