Black Shaggy Rug

I chose this black shaggy area rug (formally called a shag rug) for its higher than high pile, size and lower price–I’m the queen of cheap, so this rug gets extra points for its contribution to otherwise, cold hardwood or tile floors.

Rugs are a good way to add the illusion of more space in smaller rooms. All you need do is place your shag rug at an angle and VIOLA! instant area. Ideally, you should tuck the angled rug just under the foot or your bed. Or, in living spaces, make sure your new black, shaggy rug sits under the furniture’s legs.

Never ‘float’ your area rug. Floating means to place the rug (I’m talking area rugs like this one, not small accent rugs) in the middle of the room without grounding it with your furniture. I know you’d like to show off the rug’s shaggy pile, but try to angle it under at least some furniture, so the rug doesn’t look like a slab in  your smaller space or larger area.

I love this black shaggy rug for its promise in adding a dramatic statement to your bedroom or favorite living area. It will certainly warm up your space in an instant.
