Curly Girl: the Handbook

Lorraine Massey turned the world of us curlies upside down in 2002. She taught us how to embrace our curls and keep them frizz free and defined. You wouldn’t think she could improve on perfection, but she has with this revised and updated version of Curly Girl.

Lorraine paired up with Michele Bender to give us even more hair care guides, styling tips – and for those who have been burned by a trip to the salon one too many times – a guide on how to cut your own curly hair. One of my favorite parts of the book is the recipe section. There’s instructions on how to make deep conditioners, hair treatments, and styling gel. I personally love the lavender mist curl refresher spray. I don’t leave home without it.

Included with the book is a DVD that shows you step by step what you should be doing to your curly or wavy hair to make it look the best that it can.
