“Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” starts out about ten years after its predecessor and picks up about two years after the intelligent ape tribe has seen any sign of humanity. There are a few bands of human stragglers left and, when contact is reestablished, mistrust and hatred between the two groups causes tension and a considerable amount of backstabbing despite ape leader Caesar’s best efforts to keep the peace.
Considering that humans and apes are evolutionary cousins, it should surprise no one with a decent grounding in science that the two groups are very similar – though you could also thank science fiction’s long-standing tradition of using “alien” civilizations as a mirror for our own.
This installment in the “Planet of the Apes” franchise is darker than “Rise” and a lot of fans of the franchise seemed to like this one a lot better. The Title will be available on DEC 2nd, 2014. Pre-0rder now.Buy Now
