Folklore and the Sea is a rarity. Look on Amazon, and you’ll see that every single reviewer has given it five stars. That’s high praise for a book for nautical fans! It’s not a steamy best seller. But it does seem like it’s a fun book for anyone who loves ships, maritime trivia, and the sea.
It’s not the type of book you’ll read cover to cover in one sitting. (Well, maybe I would, but I’m a wee bit compulsive about reading.)
It IS the kind of book you’ll enjoy perusing, and picking whatever part strikes you at the moment. Look up the origin of a nautical custom, or read some sea myths and legends. Learn a little sailor’s lingo, or the words to a sea faring song. Find out about the origins of superstitions, or the design of ships. It’s all there.
I’ve put Folklore and the Sea on my list, and if you love all things nautical, maybe you should, too. It sounds intriguing!Buy Now
