This beautiful cat tote bag is designed by Laurel Burch, an artist who lived in the San Francisco Bay area. According to a website that features her work, she left a difficult home situation in Southern California at age 14, and struck out on her own. She did this despite the fact she had no means of support, and also suffered from an incurable bone disease that eventually killed her.
Fortunately, her talent carried her far. Once settled in San Francisco, she thrived and gained many fans, who prized her whimsical animal creations.
Burch passed away in 2007 due to her illness.
This canvas tote bag is approximately 15-inches in length, and about 10 inches high, and includes a wooden charm. The colors are brilliant, as is typical of Burch’s style.
