South Carolina native Jim Shore has created a line of gifts and home decor items using his distinctive Americana style of folk art. His parents had artistic talent and so did his grandmother, who spent a lot of time designing original quilts. As you can see, the pattern on the Heartwood Creek Cat above looks a bit like a patchwork quilt. The cat that you see is made by hand and painted by hand.

Jim Shore has a worldwide following, which has grown so big that he needed to sell his former business, Designs Americana to a larger enterprise named Enesco, which he has worked with to create the Heartwood Creek collection.
